Cabin in the Woods

Cabin in the woods. This is where we are living until he graduates in December. Jacob is going to school for seasonal law enforcement training. Yes my husband is going to be a park ranger for the National Parks. This is the first step we need to take to move up in the park system. In December we will be moving to a new location (National Park to be determined) to start the season. We will move until a full time position opens. We are excited to see where we will be moving over the next couple years. I am excited to explore new parks.
If you guys wonder what I will be doing, it's simple. Because Jacob and I were both in recreation in college and both in search and rescue this gives me a huge opportunity to get a job at a National Park. I have an awesome resume and would be a great asset to a park. I just don't want to be in the law enforcement part like my husband. I still want to be involved in rescues and helping people as well but for now it is all up in the air until we figure out where we are moving to next. Exciting!
Until then this is our little house. We had no idea how it would be. We planned everything over the phone without ever seeing it. So far it has been perfect.

 Our front yard.

Little vacation home. Everyone drives up from Florida to get out of the heat. The owners of 17 of these live in Florida now. Her father built them in the 70's.

 Walkway to the pond
View looking up from the pond.

That's about it. Hope this answers all the questions.

Franklin, North Carolina

I feel like I am playing catch up with everything that has been going on in the last few months. We have been here (north carolina) almost 2 weeks. Here is what we have learned. About 3,800 population in Franklin. It's really foggy in the mornings when I take Jacob to school, and it's really quiet where we live in the mountains.
Here are a few pictures over the last few days so you can see what we have. I'll get out and take some more today.
I must put my hands on my hips to much because he is always making fun of me for it.

Our view. This isn't our house but what we can see out of our cabin.
Our pond. We keep going out to find our frogs. They are HUGE! They scare me.
Did I mention there are a lot of fish in our gross little pond. Lots. Plus frogs and turtles. One of these nights we are going to catch some frogs with our basement school friend. He called it something weird I forgot. He eats them... I'll pass on that.
Playing around with the camera. This wasn't a picture I planned on sharing but it's a good picture of our front room. We bought some blankets to cover our couches so we felt a little more clean, and de-cluttered it as soon as we walked in.
Playing with the camera at the pond.
While I was at the pond alone this little guy scared me! All I here is rustling in the bushes not knowing what wild animal was about to pop out. He looks pretty fierce.
 Our porch.
Shhhh don't let Jacob let you know I showed you these... He left these around the house one morning. So cute. (thats our coffee table in the background)
Our two twins pushed together. Keeping it classy.
 Foggy morning drives.
Pretty.

Biltmore

Built in 1895 the Biltmore is American's largest home. Biltmore = 250 rooms+ 34 bedrooms+ 43 bathrooms+ 65 fireplaces (some rooms even have 3 fireplaces). Just in the basement alone has a swimming pool, gymnasium, bowling alley, servants quarters, kitchens, laundry rooms and more. We couldn't take pictures inside but this is what we captured on the outside.

Cute boy
 Beautiful

Working on my photography skills. I'm getting a little better.

 Massive fish!

 Giant lily pads. So amazing.
Jacob captured a great picture of what I looked like walking about the gardens. HOT! Gross. But I had to share. He wasn't even sweating and I looked like this.
Props to my hubby for a sweet photo.

DC

Started our 34 hour drive with a detour, headed to DC. Bucket list items needed to be checked off. Jacob had already done it a few times so he agreed to let me see it. We got to stay with his friend Kevin. We were a 10 min walk away from the White House! Pretty sweet dig. I wish I got a picture of his house. It was so cute. I was asking him where he bought everything because I wanted it all. Here are some pictures of our walking tour of DC.

Starting off the tour with the White House.

Kevin making fun of my sweet hand on the hip stand I always do.
This was after a few hours of walking. We were all hurting and just wanted to go back.
